ANZAC Holiday, 23-26 April 2005
ANZAC Day, April 25th, "marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day." This year, ANZAC Day was on Monday, which is a public holiday in Australia and New Zealand. My partner (Deidre) and I went on a small holiday to Taupo in the centre of the North Island, and then to Hawkes Bay, on the east coast. The photos that were taken above were at various locations in each of those areas, and en route to those areas.
Enjoy.
